The Delaware Career Association (DCA) of Jobs for Delaware Graduates is a student organization that was established to provide JDG students with opportunities to network with other JDG participants in their schools, in their communities, throughout the state, and at the national level.

Skills-based Goals

As members of DCA, students develop a number of skills surrounding five goals:

Students enrolled JDG program are automatically members of DCA, as DCA is integral to JDG instructional practices and student success goals. Students who participate in DCA enjoy a wide range of benefits, including:

  • Increased academic performance and retention rates
  • Improved confidence, poise, and networking skills
  • Opportunities to develop, practice, and refine leadership skills
  • Opportunities to travel, network, and build a strong, supportive network
Being a part of the Delaware Career Association is beneficial to JAG participants as it prepares them for initial employment and advancement opportunities in their chosen career field

Leadership Events

A Closer Look

DCA creates a number of opportunities for students to demonstrate their newly acquired skills. From mock interviews and resume competitions to student elections and business planning, students can leverage their program experience to develop the skills employers are looking for.

iLEAD Conference

An annual event designed to empower students as leaders at school, the workplace, and in their local community. DCA Goal #1: Leadership Development DCA Goal #3: Social Awareness

Competitive Events

An opportunity for students to compete in skills they have learned in their JDG classes. DCA Goal #2: Career Development DCA Goal #5: Service Learning
