Jobs for Delaware Graduates’ high school model pairs the traditional classroom setting with extended experiential learning opportunities. Teachers work with students to develop and achieve personal, academic and career goals. Teachers work with students to monitor their plans, make adjustments, and maintain a vision for success.

NEW! Updated High School Curriclum

The new high school curriculum includes nine core units that focus on academic achievement, employability, and soft skills. Coupled with experiential learning and, JDG’s curriculum prepares students to pursue and compete for higher education, trade programs, join the military or enter the workforce with the skills employers are looking for. Each level challenges students with content that builds in complexity as they progress.

Methods & Activities

A Closer Look

Learning through Leadership

All JDG students are eligible for membership in the Delaware Career Association (DCA), a youth organization that enhances classroom instruction with field trips, group activities, and state conferences. Chapter members elect officers, serve on committees, develop and execute a plan of work, participate in skills-based competitions and seek recognition for chapter projects and accomplishments.

JDG’s CORE Internship and Work-based Learning Programs are key in bridging the gap between concepts learned in the classrooms and applications in the field. Each program delivers enhanced experiential learning with the potential for permanent employment or temporary paid work opportunities.

Post-Secondary Follow Up

Our dedicated team of teachers and Student Outreach Coordinators continue to serve students for a minimum of 12 months after graduating high school. During this period, students receive guidance and mentoring to ensure a smooth transition to post-secondary education, training, and/or the workforce.
