Recognizing that some participants in Jobs for Delaware Graduates programs need assistance and mentoring after graduation from high school, our Career Placement Team works with JDG participants throughout the first year of their post-graduation lives.
JDG team members assist graduates with employment applications, job leads, soft skills, and enrollment in college and other certification programs. JDG provides:
- 12+ months of follow-up assistance
- Assessments to determine skills and interests
- Interview preparation
- College tours
- Application completion assistance
What’s more, Jobs for Delaware Graduates works to increase youth success by removing barriers to education or employment. Direct support can include:
- Bus passes
- Post-secondary education fees, textbooks, and supplies
- Gas cards
- Work attire
Jobs for Delaware Graduates administrators are proud of our program participants, so we remain in contact with them after graduation. We follow up with participants to encourage credential completion and continuous employment, we meet with businesses to determine participants’ progress, and we counsel youth regarding needed improvements for employment or student success.
