2022 Teachers of the Year

We are proud to announce Jobs for Delaware Graduates’ first-ever High School Teacher of the Year and Middle School Teacher of the Year:

2022 High School Teacher of the Year – Cathy Kemp, Caesar Rodney High School

Ms. Kemp was chosen due to her dedication to her students, her school and her community. She and her students completed over 400 hours of community service this year.

Her building administrator had this to say “Cathy is LOVED by her students. She is compassionate, enthusiastic, and constantly seeks opportunities for them to engage in academic lessons and workforce preparation. She is a positive force in her classroom and can engage some of the most challenging students in the building with her love of learning and passion for personal betterment.

A coworker had this to say “Cathy is extremely dedicated to her students and consistently goes above and beyond to provide them with resources, skills and encouragement. Cathy is always willing to share her experiences about what works and does not work with any colleague that asks and is even willing to train when necessary. Cathy has dedicated more years to JDG than 90% of the staff and still exhibits a high level of energy and excitement about the work that she does. She is a great example of what a JDG teacher should be.”

2022 Middle School Teacher of the Year – Glennine Williams, A I Middle School

Ms. Williams was chosen due to her energy and passion she exudes every day in the classroom.

A coworker had this to say, “Ms. G is a huge asset to our school. She goes above and beyond to make a connection with EVERY student. Even if they are not in her class. She makes it a point to have herself visible in our school community. She is always willing to step up and step in. Ms. G has a passion second to none for our students and truly cares about the WHOLE student. She supports all students not only academically but more importantly, socially and emotionally.

One of her students had this to say, “She is very respectful, she knows how to get work done and have fun at the same time, she is the only reason I love coming to school.”

A special thank you to JDG Board Member, Jonathan Barnes and our partners at Integrity Staffing Solutions who sponsored this award.
