Connecting Students to Work

Connecting students to work is a major component of Jobs for Delaware Graduates. Our team works with local businesses, colleges, and trade programs to develop opportunities that encourage post-secondary education and continuous employment for students. Paired with our experiential learning programs, JDG offers real-world experiences to participants through guided internships and immersive learning.

CORE Internship Program

Creating Opportunities through Real Experiences (CORE) advances the 12th grade curriculum to include in-class projects and off-site job training through job shadowing, internships, and co-ops.

JDG High School Program

Work-Based Learning

Work-based Learning (WBL) through Jobs for Delaware Graduates offers structured opportunities that develop and strengthen technical and employability skills.

Creating Opportunities through Real Experiences (CORE)

CORE is an enhanced experiential learning option available to Jobs for Delaware Graduates participants entering the 12th grade. The program combines in-class and off-site job readiness training through job-shadowing, internships, and/or co-ops with partnering companies throughout Delaware. Through C.O.R.E., students are exposed to real-world situations that demonstrate practical applications for academic learning.

Students who complete the C.O.R.E. Program can gain industry knowledge and applications in the field; strengthen their ability to compete for jobs, college, and scholarships on a higher level; and build relationships with professionals and peers in their desired fields.

CORE helps students to connect the dots between school and work in ways that keep them motivated to graduate with the skills they need for the future!

One Opportunity Leads to Infinite Possibilities.

Become a CORE Partner today!

Employers invested in a deeper partnership can help students tie their own interests and aptitudes to the skills and activities in an industry. This may include job shadowing, mentorship, job site tours, or demonstrations.

Through CORE, students are matched with employers based on career goals and interests to receive skill-specific training in the workplace.
