JDG Thrive offers school-to-work transitional services to young adults, ages 16-23, in foster care. Students work one-on-one with a Student Outreach Coordinator to ensure participants successfully graduate high school and obtain post-secondary education, training, and/or employment.

Individualized Training and Education
Students who enroll in JDG Thrive enjoy a dynamic learning experience that develops the skills necessary to compete in the changing economy. Each JDG Thrive participant receives individualized training and education in the following areas:
- Job search techniques
- Resume and employment application assistance
- Interview and career attire selection
- Business etiquette and soft skills training
- Financial literacy education
- College and scholarship planning
Shaping the Future!
On average, youth in foster care experience more barriers to success than most. Our experienced Student Outreach Coordinator works closely with Independent Living Workers to provide individualized counseling and training that will give students the confidence to successfully secure and sustain employment in today’s economy.
- Students ages 16-23 years are eligible for the JDG Thrive program and are considered on a referral basis.
- Student participants will connect with JDG twice a month and maintain communication to complete pre-employment training & education.
- Each student will create and implement a Career Competency Plan tailored to meet their individual needs.
- Student participants are eligible to receive incentives for competency completion and reaching 30 and 90-day employment milestones.
