You are applying to participate in the JDG C.O.R.E. (Creating Opportunities through Real Experiences) Internship Program. Jobs for Delaware Graduates and Christiana Care are partnering to offer this experience to select students. Students who complete internships during high school can look forward to:
- Gaining industry knowledge and applications in the field.
- Developing your passion, improve your skillsets, and strengthen your ability to compete on a higher level.
- Creating a network of like-minded peers and make professional contacts.
- Improving your confidence when seeking employment or post-secondary education.
Select students will complete a 10-week rotation in the following areas:
Week 1 Orientation / Sanitation / Foodborne illness
Week 2 Receiving / Storeroom / Product ID
Week 3 Purchasing / Ordering / Recipe Conversion
Week 4 Sandwich Production
Week 5 Salad Production
Week 6 Breakfast
Week 7 Vegetable / Starches
Week 8 Grill / Fryer
Week 9 Soup and Sauces ( Patient area ) / Am & Pm Café ( Cafeteria )
Week 10 Puree’s / Keep Fill / Floor Stock ( Patient area ) / Cashier ( cafeteria )
Note: The JDG C.O.R.E. Internship Program takes commitment and is a big responsibility. If you are accepted into the program, we expect you to fully participate in all program activities and to be personally responsible for your attendance, attitude, and performance at work and at other activities.
As a student intern, you must agree to:
- Arrive to work on time, dressed appropriately.
- Complete assigned work tasks.
- Contribute to a positive atmosphere in the workplace.
- Comply with all internship and/or company policies and regulations.
- Discuss and set realistic goals with your supervisor and participate in periodic assessments.
- Provide a copy of a Federal and State Background check if you will be 18 by January 15, 2019.
- Provide a copy of 12-panel drug test results.
- Provide a copy of current immunizations.

Copy of 12 panel drug test results- this can be done by acquiring a script from your family physician or walk-in to TEKSOLV, 130 Executive Drive, Suite 5, Newark, DE 19702. 3. Record that you have received the following immunizations: • Tetanus • Measles • Mumps • Rubella • Hepatitis B • 2 step Tuberculosis • Varicella if a negative history or an unknown history of chicken pox • Influenza (Flu Shot)-within last 6 months |
