Jobs for Delaware Graduates Hits the U.S. Capitol!

On Thursday, November 30th, Jobs for Delaware Graduates (JDG) joined more than 650 Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) participation from 34 states to cease the day at our nation’s capitol. Each year, JDG attends JAG’s National Student Leadership Academy for a week of networkworking, leadership, personal development, and fun! This year, JDG showed up in a special way.

JDG Takes Center Stage

Jobs for Delaware Graduates’ DCA State Officer (Christiana Highschool), was selected to present the keynote student address during JAG’s 2017 Leadership Awards Reception.  Speaking confidently before a room filled with Governors, Mayors, Senators, and honorable guests from across the nation, the Officer shared how Jobs for Delaware Graduates prepared her for a “moment such as this.” During her speech, she describes “learning about managing money through budgets, how to plan a grocery list, career interests, and goal setting. She thanks her Specialist and Mentor, for helping her to “develop the skills needed to succeed in the real world” and become the “intelligent and bright young woman she was destined to be.” The Officer is grateful for JDG and looks forward to starting college in the fall!
